Mondo.rs
Mondo.rs began as a mobile portal in September 2004 and was turned into a web portal in December 2005. The portal carries news, sports and entertainment stories and has a "Mondo TV" section with short news clips.
There were several indications that portal Mondo is owned by Telekom Srbija, although the exact ownership structure was not clear till February 2019. At that moment the owner of Mondo became Igor Žeželj, through his company Mondo Inc, according to Serbian Business Registers Agency.
By February 2019, the ownership structure of Mondo.rs was not transparent and no data on this could be found in the official media register. However, there were several indications that the portal was owned by Telekom Srbija ad, company in which Republic of Serbia has a majority ownership.
Portal Mondo.rs was founded in 2004 by Telekom. Predrag Vujic, the editor in chief of the Mondo portal, confirmed in an interview for BIRN in October 2018 that Telekom Srbija is the owner of the portal. Then, in the Register of the National Internet Domain Serbia (RNIDS), Telekom Srbija was listed as the owner of the domain mondo.rs. In addition to this, on the website of the company, in the f section "our sites", Mondo was listed as one of Telekom Srbija web sites, while on the other hand, in the portal's impression, there were no data on ownership.
All this was changed in February 2019, when Igor Žeželj’s company Mondo Inc officially entered the ownership of the portal. Since then, Mondo Inc has been listed as the owner in all official registries, and additionally Mondo portal has been removed from the list of Telekom Srbija's websites.
Contrary to the facts that indicated that the state was the owner of the portal Mondo.rs through Telekom Srbija and before Mondo Inc was officially registered in the business register as the owner, there was a public conviction that the informal owner was Igor Žeželj.
The reason for this is that all Zezelj’s companies are located, now and even before, at the same adress Obilicev venac in Belgrade, where the Mondo portal is located. Apart from sharing a common work space, they use the same phone number what can be seen on their websites.
Igor Žeželj, through several companies, is the ultimate owner of Mondo Inc.
